1. Review the tentative budget of the Parks and Recreation Department.
2. Recommend improvements to parks and playgrounds to the City Council.
3. Aid by recommendation in the implementation of a beneficial parks and recreation program.
MEETING SCHEDULE:
Fourth Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. Can also be seen on SNCAT.
MEETING PLACE:
City Council Legislative Building, 745 4th Street, Sparks.
TERM OF OFFICE:
Three-year terms.
GOVERNING AUTHORITY:
Sparks Municipal Code 2.12.
APPOINTING AUTHORITY:
Mayor with confirmation by the City Council.
NUMBER OF APPOINTEES:
Nine members plus the Parks and Recreation Director serves as an ex officio member.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a resident of the city and if not a resident, own a
business in the City and have a valid business license. One
of the Mayor's appointments must be a member of the City
Council. Customarily one member has been a student at a
Sparks high school or a college student.
